Things To Do On Your Mediterranean
Cruise
A Mediterranean cruise is an exciting way to vacation. There are so many exotic locations and so much delicious
food to experience you'll want to return time after time. On a Mediterranean cruise, you'll visit many historic
landmarks, eat an abundance of delectable cuisine, and meet interesting people from around the world. Not to
mention the shopping, which is unparalleled! Most of these experiences take place onshore when you have stopped in
one of the ports. However, don't forget the time you will be spending aboard the ship. There are also many exciting
activities and opportunities that take place on the ship.
While on a Mediterranean cruise you will usually set sail early in the morning or afternoon. This may take
several hours as the thousands of passengers climb aboard and get their luggage settled and arranged. You will
usually give your luggage to a handler in the parking lot who will tag it and take it to your room for you.
Once you have checked in it will probably be time for lunch. There will be several dining locations for you to
choose from and a large variety of food to satisfy every dining preference. You will be able to choose from soups,
sandwiches, pizza, hot entrees and desserts. The food you select can be gourmet all the way down to a simple hot
dog. Many Mediterranean cruises also offer cuisine authentic to the region. During the dinner hours these same
dining options will be available along with more formal dining areas. As seating is limited on Mediterranean cruise
ships you will most likely be seated with other diners. Dinner will have more exotic options than lunch and will
consist of multiple courses.
Entertainment is also provided aboard the ships at night. Most ships feature casinos filled with table games and
slot machines. There are also bars and lounges onboard usually offering entertainment. In the auditorium of the
ship there will also be a show each night featuring dancers and actors. Most cruises have formal nights where
guests can don their formal attire and have their pictures taken professionally. Dinner will be more formal those
nights -- dishes such as filet mignon and lobster are served in addition to the normal fare.
Recreation opportunities abound during the day as well. Most ships have pools, with waterslides, for swimming.
Many Mediterranean cruise ships also have miniature golf facilities. Spas offering all sorts of treats like hot
stone massages, manicures, and pedicures are usually available as well. Many ships also have libraries stocked with
a wide assortment of books and each room usually has a television with access to several channels. Most ships also
have computers with internet access so guests can stay connected to the outside world.
If you are planning a Mediterranean cruise make sure to include all of the awesome onboard activities as part of
your vacation itinerary. Your time onboard can be just as fun and relaxing as your onshore touring!
